Manhattan Beach Farmers Market
Jun 9, 2026
The LA Times Festival of Books is the largest book festival in the United States and one of the largest in the world — now in its 46th year and held annually on the USC campus. Two full days, 550+ writers and authors, 350+ exhibitors, and free general admission. This is one of those events that rewards not having a specific plan: you wander, discover a panel you didn’t know you wanted to see, end up in a book signing line for someone you’ve read for years.
The 2026 confirmed guest lineup includes Lionel Richie (discussing his memoir), Sarah Jessica Parker (discussing “The Radiant Dark”), Larry David (on the making of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”), and Amy Tan (receiving the Robert Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement). New this year: an Audiobook and Podcast Stage presented by Spotify, plus significantly expanded romance and fantasy genre programming.
The festival kicks off officially on Friday evening (April 17) with the 46th Annual LA Times Book Prizes ceremony — Amy Tan receiving the Robert Kirsch Award. The main festival runs Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free; parking is $20 at USC lots. About 30 minutes from Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach (traffic-dependent; plan for 35–45 minutes during peak hours).
